2018 Employment

Looking for a great summer job? Rexburg Rapids offers a fun atmosphere with great work experience to those seeking summer employment. Positions may include lifeguards, instructors, and cashiers ranging in pay from $7.25 – $10.00 an hour. Attendees are guaranteed an interview and further details about open positions will be available each year at our annual Job Fair. Bring a copy of your resume when you come.

  • Previous experience is desired but not required
  • CPR and first aid certified is a plus but not required

General Duties

  • Work with an online point of sale system (training will be
  • provided)
  • Serve hot and cold food and beverages, open and close tills, answer phones, communicate rules of the pool to patrons, work opening and closing cleaning shifts
  • Must attend and participate in cashier In-service training before and throughout the season


Head Lifeguards:

  • Must be certified or willing to get certified prior to the pool opening in the following: LGI, WSI, Lifeguarding, CPR First aid and water-park certified (offered during training at Rexburg Rapids)
  • Lift 50-100 lbs. on occasion

General Duties:

  • Supervision of lifeguard shifts, Opening and closing Cleaning shifts
  • Assist in and complete Pre-season training, and biweekly In-service training
  • Teach swim lessons
  • Conflict resolution for staff and patrons
  • Communicate rules to patrons
  • Fill out reports and administer First aid as necessary


  • Must be a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard with CPR/AED/FA or able to become certified by the season start date
  • Must be a minimum of 15 yrs old

General Duties:

  • Work 4-5 hour shifts
  • Patron surveillance, first aid when necessary, cleaning pool, bathrooms and pool deck, work opening and closing cleaning shifts
  • Attend and participate in mandatory bi weekly In-service training
  • Appropriately and effectively communicate rules to patrons in order to maintain a safe and positive working environment

Swim Instructors:

  • Must be a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or able to become certified by the season start date (you do NOT need to be a lifeguard to be a swimming instructor)
  • Must be a minimum of 16 yrs old

General Duties:

  • Must be available to teach Monday –Thursday (occasional Friday make up day) for two week session at a time
  • Create lesson and block plans for each session
  • Work with children and adults starting, ages 6 months and up
  • Attend and participate in weekly in-service training
